To desire became authentic. To refuse became repression.
To accuse became courage.To endure became pathology.

The center shifted — from act to feeling, from duty to
experience, from truth to narrative
And once feeling became the measure, prohibition

required apology.
Every boundary needed justification.
Every hierarchy explanation.

Every inheritance defense. Nothing could simply be linked.
The “ancient” structure — parent to child, promise to
partner, word to truth, self to restraint — appeared suddenly

too severe.
Not wrong. Only heavy. And heaviness, it was agreed,
impeded flourishing.

So the moral load was lightened.
Expectation relaxed.
Standards softened.

Judgment deferred.
Where once the conscience spoke in imperatives, it now
suggested options. Where once it warned, it now advised.

Where once it forbade, it now contextualized.
Language did the work quietly. Failure became struggle.
Vice became coping. Transgression became expression.
To name a wrong felt harsher than the wrong itself.

Thus severity migrated — not toward the act, but toward the
accuser.

The prohibition turned suspect; the desire innocent. It was
kinder, after all, to affirm.
